Showing how to change DNS server setting in windows 7,8 & 10 with pics. and video

Have you ever wondered How to change DNS server of your windows pc ? xp , windows 7 or 8 ?Today I am going to show you how to use google dns , open dns , or any other dns on your computer ... if you want to boost up your internet speed or want to make your internet more secure then you should definitely change your DNS server , as your default server is always slow comparative to these high speed servers ,

to change your dns server , just follow these steps -
  1. Go to task bar and click on network & click on sharing icon to see which network you are connected to ...
    (if you already know the name of the network that you are connected to then no problem)

  2. Go to Start Menu & open Control Panel .

  3. In control panel , find Network and Sharing Center and open it .

  4. Now go to change adapter setting .

  5. Now as you already know which network a\you are connected to ,., just right click on it ,
    and click on properties .
  6. Find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

  7. Click on it and then click on properties below.
Now change from obtain DNS serve automatically to -> Use following DNS server address

For using Google DNS , change -
  • Preferred DNS server to -> 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS server to -> 8.8.4.4
google open default dns
For using Open DNS , change -
  • Preferred DNS server to -> 208.67.222.222
  • Alternate DNS server to -> 208.67.220.220
For using any other DNS servers , change these servers with your preferred DNS server ..

Now just click on save , and restart your internet connection ..
that's it .
